Our Weekend in Numbers

I've heard a bunch of complaints about my lack of posts, lately. Apparently, it is tough to convince you people that our lives are quite uneventful, so I thought I'd offer up a glimpse of our latest fascinating weekend. Here it is in a nutshell!

1. How many guests we had this weekend. Thanks for coming Jarin!

2. The number of soccer games we watched. The boys did great, but I'm anxious to spend Saturdays NOT at the park!

3. Hours of church.

4. The number of books I read this week. (The Book of Mormon, Night, One More Day, The Kite Runner -- Yeah, it is definitely time to read something HAPPY!)

5. The number of "new" favorite places Brielle has found for getting into trouble!

6.Steaks, grilled to perfection!

7. The time Trayson got up on Saturday morning, ready to help Dad and Jarin (who were still sleeping) with the fence.

8.25: The time Breje got when they ran the mile in school on Friday. I'm so proud!

9. The number of times Kutter informed me that Daddy really couldn't build the fence without him!

10. The number of fingernails I painted. (yeah, that's really all I had for this one. We are so BORING!)

97. The number of posts they put in the fence.

102. The number of holes they dug for the fence (hmmmm.)

Little Miss Trouble

I think I've finally captured the true essence of my sweet baby girl on film! What do you think? Should I be scared?

She's Walking!...

... sort of, and it's really breaking my heart. I get caught up in how excited the kids are to see her walk, but when I get a moment to really think about it I just want to cry. This is my baby and she doesn't want to act like a baby anymore! It's just not fair!

Anyway, I have been trying to get a decent video of her walking for about a week now and she is just not cooperating. I'm posting the two most successful ones and you can decide if it's worth checking them both out.

Warning: Breje acted as videographer, and our entire crew is just shrieking with laughter to see this little twerpette (Yeah, she's inspired me to invent a new word. I think it's gonna catch on!) showing off at bedtime. You may want to turn the volume down before you push play!

Soccer time!

This was our boys' second week of soccer games this season and it was actually extremely enjoyable! We had our first nice weather of the year-- jackets off and everything. Kutter was especially excited for his game, because this is his first year playing. He's the smallest kid on the whole team, but he plays his little heart out! It's hard to tell, but this is a picture of him leading the pack! He even scored one of their two goals! Both boys won and we all got tiny sunburns, so we declared it a complete success!

A Weekend with the Girls!

I can't help sharing a few moments from our crazy, silly, funny, self-indulgent, spendy girl's weekend! Breje has been begging me for a "girls-night-out" for awhile, now, and we just haven't been able to fit it in. Aunt Hayley to the rescue! She decided we needed to make last year's memorable trip to Park City an annual event. Brave, brave Heather decided to drag her girl's along (OK, with some coaxing from busy busy Daddy!) and it couldn't have been more fun! We ate tons of good food (of course!) spent more money than we should've, and shopped for an entire day, just us girls. By the end of the day we were sick from all the sugar, had sore feet from all the walking, and really couldn't wait to get home -- but we had some great laughs along the way!
As much fun as the shopping was, I'm pretty sure the highlight of the weekend for Breje was finally getting the haircut she's been begging for for years! Aunt Hayley to the rescue again! Jody and I fought this one forever, and now I finally know why. She just looks so dang beautiful and grown-up! When she saw me taking a picture of her shorn locks, all she could say was "DO NOT SHOW THAT TO DAD!". Yeah, this was hardest on him!

My favorite part was just getting to spend all that quality time with these amazing women! Thanks guys!

Our little bundle of trouble!

Brielle has been tough to keep track of ever since she started crawling, but this week she has learned several new tricks that have been driving me crazy! She apparently has never noticed that the kitchen cupboards open -- until this week! Can you say "time to childproof"?

I let her get stuck, hoping that it would deter her from climbing in again . . .
It did NOT work! This is round two!
I also finally gave up on convincing her that there is no need to climb the stairs. She cruises up them at top speed, now, then waits for me to find her and giggles histerically. I'm terrified she's gonna try and climb down, so up went the gate. It seriously hurt her feelings!
I bought her this cute flower headband for Easter and she hates it. You haven't seen pictures of her in it, yet, because I didn't want to torture her. This week, I decided that she owed me one!

She did not agree! These are the best I could get, so you'll have to believe me that she was the picture of spring perfection!

A wonderful family in our ward invited us over for what will probably go down in history as our favorite Family Home Evening Ever! Joy makes an exceptional spaghetti casserole, but even that was topped by two beautiful horses, saddled and ready for my excited children (OK, I think Jody was even more excited than the kids!)
Check out the huge grin on Kutter's face! It took some convincing to get him up there, but he didn't want the horse ride to end.
Trayson actually rode a horse by himself, but I love this beautiful picture of him with his dad.
I'm always complaining that it's not very pretty out here, but it's tough to beat that sunset! Breje has been riding a couple of times -- so she looked like a pro up there. No hesitation at all. I was so jealous that she looked so comfortable and confident.

Brielle didn't actually get a ride, but Jody had to at least get her up on a horse for a minute. She loved it out there, but she mostly wanted to crawl around with the horses.

And, yes, I actually got on a horse! I even rode it all by myself, for about two minutes! I finally begged Breje to hold the reins and guide the horse for me. I clearly was not meant to sit that high above the earth!
It finally got cold enough to talk them all into coming inside -- but it's a night they will talk about for a long time! Thanks Spauldings!
